Maya Gold & Silver Announces Management Reorganisation
Montreal, Quebec, February 9, 2010 – MAYA GOLD & SILVER (TSX-V: MYA) (“Maya” or the “Company”) (TSX: MYA) announces today changes to its management and appointment of new company officers, as the Company moves forward in maximizing the potential of its Amizmiz gold and silver property in Morocco.
Mr. Guy Goulet replaces Mr. Réjean Gosselin as Chief Executive Officer and Mr. Gosselin remains as Executive Chairman of the Company.
The Board appoints Leonard Teoli as Chief Financial Officer for the Company, further to the resignation of Mrs. Ghislaine Godin. Mr. Teoli succeeds Mrs Godin who leaves to pursue other opportunities. Mrs. Godin will remain with Maya for a period of time in order to ensure a smooth transition. The Board of Directors expresses its appreciation to Mrs. Godin for her contribution to the Company and wishes her well in her future business endeavours.
Mr. Teoli is a chartered accountant with 20 years of experience. He graduated from Quebec University in Montreal in 1987 with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration. He joined Price Waterhouse, where he spent the next 9 years reaching the audit manager level and serving clients in the mining industry. Since 1996, he has been involved with junior mining companies carrying exploration activities worldwide, with responsibilities in financial controls and financial reporting.
